Project Description: In February 2012, University of Minnesota Extension staff met with the Northern Aero Alliance to discuss research opportunities based on their application to the EDA Center. The Northern Aero Alliance is a coalition of businesses, government entities, and organizations whose mission is to support and promote the aviation industry in the Duluth-Superior region. The Northern Aero Alliance asked University of Minnesota Extension to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current status of the aerospace industry in the region, its economic impact, and its potential for the future. This report summarizes the research. The research is supported by the EDA Center at the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Partners in the research include the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and APEX.
